Introduction
Unbelievable Jessica Ennis – From My Childhood Dreams To Winning Olympic Gold. I was so excited when I found a copy of this book to read. Jessica Ennis is an incredible athlete and all-around inspiring woman. Seeing her compete in multiple sports is a testament to her willpower and determination.
The Memories
This book took me right back to my memories of London 2012, of being on the phone with my mum and screaming whenever Jessica took the gold for Team GB. It was so emotional watching this small lady (the same height as me!) leaping over hurdles, and powering through leaps and sprinting with powerful legs to victory all while wearing the biggest smile. Athletes like Jessica Ennis and Mo Farah started a revolution of running even in my hometown hundreds of miles away.
The book encapsulates the feeling of nervous excitement that came with the games, the pressure of getting through the prelims, and the passion and drive that took her to gold at the 2012 Olympic games.
Inspiring
I hate to overuse the word ‘inspiring,’ but it really fits here with a star like Jessica. It’s difficult to read this book and not want to run. I found myself relaxing on several rest days wishing to head out after only a few pages. I would recommend ‘Unbelievable Jessica Ennis – From My Childhood Dreams To Winning Olympic Gold’ for any lover of the sport! Head over to Amazon to pick your copy; you won’t regret it.
